Plans were drawn up based on our research .

7-10-2016 Out line planning has been given to build two detached two story houses on the old Hall site . Planning dep ref DC/16/0459/OUT
19-10-2016 The Village Hall Committee will be arranging for the Village to view the plans and any relevant documents , dates will be announced on this site and the notice board .
20-10-2016 The viewing of the plans has been arranged for the 12th & 13th of November 2-4 pm with representatives from the village hall & cockerton trust .
14-11-2016 The plans for the new Village Hall were on display 12th-13th Nov , the turnout was encouraging with 25 people attending , some useful suggestions were put forward ( for a summery click HERE ) all suggestions will be taken into consideration when deciding the final layout .
17-11-2016 We had our monthly committee meeting on Wed 16th with Simon Pott from the Cockerton Trust came along to answer questions to clarified some outstanding issues , estate agents notice boards will be going up on both sides of the High st prior to the full tendering proses with construction expected to start in the new year .
10-7-2017 An informal joint meeting was held between the John Cockerton trust and the Village Hall committee to help steer our projects in the same direction , to that end Gill Flack has agreed to join the VHC for as long as necessary .
6-9-2017 Following advanced meetings with TVH , JCT & our Architects finale plans for the new Village Hall have been agreed and have set a deadline of mid September to publish the prospectus then the tendering prose's can get underway .
Proposed alterations to the original internal layout include not having a rear access door into the kitchen instead having a window , access will be from the foyer and the conference room .The kitchen and conference room to be divided by glazed French doors , open or closed this should give more light into the kitchen this change will so enabling greater flexibility as an extension of the kitchen for large functions .The kitchen layout itself is still to be finalized but should be in place by the deadline . Provision will be made for a projector either table level or overhead this will be discussed with the end user . Our wish list If our budget permits is to install an air source heating pump system to a sprung dance floor , also solar panels .
6-11-2017 The sale's of the VH & School sites are now on the open market , prospective bidders have until the 30th November to submit best and final offers.
22-11-2017 At long last for sale notices have gone up outside the VH and old school , there have been viewings at both sites by potential developers , its to early at this stage to gauge the strength of interest so fingers crossed .The official deadline is 30th November when all sealed bids will be opened but given the complexity of the overall project developers putting in bids after this date may still be considered .
30-11 2017 Today the sealed bids where opened in front of representatives for the VH and JCT , two bids one from Matthew Almond the other from Andrew Garnett the two bids will be closely Scrutinized over the weekend then our decision will be passed on to our estate agents Jackson Stops on Monday morning .
4-12-2017 The VH committee have now reached a decision on who we would like to buy and develop the old Hall site and build our new Village Hall , our estate agents Jackson Stops have been informed that our preferred bidder is Andrew Garnett .
Congratulations Andrew we are looking forward to working with you .
5-12-2017 The JCT have accepted Andrew Garnett's offer for the Old School Site. Now Jackson Stops can issue the memorandum of sale , then the next stage is for both parties to instruct their respective solicitors to proceed to conveyance .
5-10-2020 An application was made to Plugin Suffolk for a grant of £3000 to instal a 7kw car charging unit .
22-2-2021 I'm pleased to announce at long last that the contracts between the Village Hall - JCT and Millhouse Homes should be signed this week .
1-3-2021 I can confirm that all contracts have now been signed and completion will be on or about the 2nd of May . I would like to thank the John Cockerton Trust for there generosity in giving the Village Hall some of the old school land to build a new Hall plus a share of the sale price . As I understand it Mill House Homes will progress the building of the Village Hall at the same time as the housing , the project will take approximately 18 months depending on the weather and Stone Curlew's not taking up residence .
19-5-2021 Rona Burrt has been asked to started an application to the Lottery, this is to cover shortfalls we have encountered due to Covid and the increasing costs of building materials .
10-6-2021 Demolition of the old school due to start removing the remaining asbestos , should all be removed by the 17th June .
July 2021 New Village Hall - Footings complete .
8-9-2021 The Lottery have requested that we carry out an up to date village survey to see what there needs are for the hall , An Open day will be held on Saturday 2nd October @ 10am - 2pm where residents can see the plans and ask questions .
25-10-2021 A site survey was carried out by Anglia car chargers to see if the new hall site was suitable for a charger and it was suggested that we could have two units at no extra cost , the second unit would have to be located on JCT land , Andrew Garnett said he would approach the trust for there permission , this has now been granted .
9-11-2021 The two EV charger install has been approved by Plug In Suffolk.
16-11-2021 The steel frame work is being delivered but had to be returned due to some being 600mm to short .
10-01-2022 The steels are going up despite a second error , errors now corrected. Internal blockworks starting next week , Electrics and Water now on site
July 2022 Roof now going on and once complete will be followed by flooring and wiring
